The National Council of Women of the United States (NCW/US) is the oldest ^{[1][better source needed]} nonsectarian organization of women in the United States Founded in 1888,^[2] the NCW/US is an accredited non-governmental organization (NGO) with the Department of Public Information (UN/DPI)^[1] and in Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations (ECOSOC).^[3]
